The TAK software suite provides a Common Operating Picture (COP) based on an extensible framework that accommodates changing technologies, such as drone support, wildland fire sensors, weather reporting systems, aviation tracking, and maritime tracking. Thanks to the rich functionality and no-charge software cost, law enforcement and fire service staff are increasingly deploying TAK to support operations. To better appreciate TAK's potential and hurdles, I embarked on my own deployment effort.
UCI Cycling World Championship Showcases PoC
I joined up with John Dundas' merry band of radio experts as they deployed DMR, TETRA, and Push-to-Talk over Cellular solutions across the widely scattered venues hosting the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships. What I saw points to a growing importance of PoC in the high-pressure world of Mega-Sporting events.

The progress in building a Band 68 ecosystem was highlighted at the Ericsson, and Nokia stands at Critical Communications World 2023. At its stand, Ericsson showed the elements of the Ericsson radio ecosystem supporting Band 68 and the CROSSCALL CORE-Z5 handset, the Qualcomm QCM6490, and the STREAMWIDE Mission Critical Services core network server support.
