Told in Their Own Words: InteropONE PTT over Broadband from BK Technologies

In 2023 BK Technologies launched its InteropONE Push-to-Talk over Broadband offer at FDIC. Fast-forward a year, and the company builds on that base capability to integrate seamlessly with the new BKR 9000 All-Band LMR Portable.

For BKR 9000 users needing to join a broadband-based interoperability group, the LMR portable links to the InteropONE application on a smartphone via Bluetooth. Once the connection is made, the BKR 9000 knobs and buttons control the InteropONE application and group voice communications flows via the broadband service data bearer.

For InteropONE application users who need to communicate with other users on LMR devices, BK Technologies provides a Portable LMR Gateway. Communications from LTE pass to a two-port JPS Gateway for transmission over a donor radio.

The resulting ensemble provides the best of both worlds, LMR and mobile broadband, to interconnect teams from different organizations.
