The IAFC Technology Summit International (TSI) showcased technology solutions addressing fire service challenges. One of the most exciting discussions arose in the session on "Communications in Denied Environments: Enabling Mission Success in Austere Conditions." In this session, Fire Chief Dustin Morrow described the Central Pierce Fire and Rescue communications strategy that centers around making fire apparatus the gateway for communications. It is a notable resilience strategy that provides a path forward for replacing Land Mobile Radio with FirstNet's Mission Critical Push-to-Talk functionality.

An essential enabler of the strategy is support for multiple resilient links that include several mobile network operators and satellite services. On the exhibition floor, Dejero highlighted its unique capabilities for bonding data streams across these parallel communications links. The company's roots in high-performance video transfer over mobile networks have earned it a prominent role in broadcast operations where mobility is essential. Its position in public safety operations is significant, as well, initially as a transport tool for video and now as the lynchpin for vehicle communications systems. The deployment in Central Pierce Fire and Rescue is a powerful demonstration of the progress being made by Dejero.
