Told in Their Own Words: Live MCX Demo with BEEHD From Softil

Demonstrated at: #IWCE23

3GPP open standards-based mission-critical push-to-talk (MCPTT) group communications is a reality today. At #IWCE23, Softil showed a live demonstration of diverse devices and applications flowing standards-based push-to-talk traffic over a live production network hosted by Southern Linc. This demonstration was a terrific proof point of real MCPTT interoperability over an Ericsson MCX server hosted on Southern Linc's network that delivers Quality of Service, Priority, and Preemption.

The standards-based products powered by Softil's BEEHD MCX client software include L3Harris XL-200 hybrid P25/MCX LTE handset, Catalyst Communications Technologies LMR/MCX interworking gateway, Catalyst Communications Technologies console application, AdvanceTec Industries MCX vehicle system, and Southern Linc's Critical Link smartphone client.

The demonstration is significant because it shows that standards-based MCX technology is working in the market. It also highlights the diversity of products that are now available.

Southern Linc is clearly the most advanced standards-based MCX deployment outside Korea today. The company is gaining traction with public safety agencies in its footprint. The IWCE demonstration shows why that success is happening.

Thanks to Sagi Subocki, Softil's Vice President, Products and Marketing, for an intriguing look at what we can accomplish today with 3GPP-based MCX networks, services, devices, and applications.
